Callisto Upgrade – Mar. 2012 (#2)

Improved speed & accuracy of detecting problem resolutions Callisto now has an even more advanced dynamic scheduling process for verifying your subscriptions.  Callisto is now even more accurate in discovering and reporting WHEN your access problems have been resolved. This new scheduler design even allows us to further reduce the normal frequency that the probes test your providers, so Callisto still has very low-impact on everyone’s computing resources.

Title Tracking! March brings the most exciting set of feature improvements since Callisto was released. Even with the several ways Callisto could detect and track your subscriptions before, librarians wanted more to address what they perceive as the most troublesome aspect of e-resource support. Now Callisto also detects and verifies your subscriptions to individual databases, collections, and book/journal titles inside content providers!

Callisto was upgraded January 8. Suppression of Brief Events Alerts, Deduplication of Alerts, and Setting your Access Baseline The major changes in this release work together to significantly improve the relevance of email alerts sent and avoiding information overload. We have done this by redesigning how and when the system sends alerts and allowing customers to control the system sensitivity in new ways. These new settings are viewable and changeable in the Dashboard’s Alertee screens. On-screen documentation there provides details.

Consortium & Multi-Site Improvements October’s Upgrade made the cool Access Status dashboard better and we didn’t stop there. Now it’s even better for customers with multiple “Sites” in Callisto. These include multi-campus institutions, campuses with central and distributed e-resource subscription and management, and library consortia with shared e-resources. That’s where you can see all the subscriptions that are available across all of your networks and proxy servers, and where every subscription anomaly is occurring. Callisto Upgrade – Sept. 2011

The major visible improvement for September is that the formatting of all date/time stamps are now adjusted to the customer’s local time. Since Callisto is checking and reporting on your e-resource subscriptions around the clock, many features and reports in the system are time-sensitive. You need to be able to understand when problems occurred at your location without thinking about Universal Time. Every Site in Callisto now has a customer-centric timezone setting.
