April 2021 update. Our Callisto service has many unique benefits. But one of our favorites is discovering when an e-resource content provider has made a big mistake, and is granting subscription access to the wrong institution. For example, today as I write, we see that three different providers are accidentally authorizing the wrong institutions to access to subscription resources that are paid for by the University of Illinois at Chicago, Ochanomizu University in Japan (お茶の水女子大学), and two campuses in Taiwan: Kaohsiung Medical University (高雄醫學大學) and the Taipei College of Maritime Technology (台北海洋科技大學). We’ve seen this happen with some regularity for Read More

In January, we began rolling out a series of enhancements to Callisto’s capabilities. These are part of an even larger system redesign effort that is still underway. A little history seems relevant here. We first developed Callisto in 2010-2011, with it becoming available in August 2011. Although we made many small improvements in subsequent months and years, the software we built then was largely the same until this year. But the world wide web continues to evolve, such that technologies and practices in wide use on websites now are often very different, more varied, and more complex. The side-effect for Read More

Meet us at the 2016 Electronic Resources & Libraries Conference. Co-founder John Weible will be on site throughout the conference to talk with you and can show Callisto in action. Also learn about Callisto Insights and sign up for the upcoming beta release. Contact us either at the Vendor Exhibits (booth #612) or by email to make an appointment. 2016 will be our third year as an exhibiting sponsor at ER&L. We gain most of our new customers there and also get the rare pleasure of finally meeting some of our existing customers in person. See you there!
